This iconic route is not only popular with walkers; hosting to two well-established ultra-marathons each year, this is the perfect route for runners and those who want a different kind of experience.

Why not take on the challenge yourself and beat the crowds by running the West Highland Way with Easyways. Whether you want to complete the Way as fast as possible, take a day to rest in between legs or have some time to explore the nearby Munros, we will take care of everything.

Milngavie to Rowardennan (26 miles / 42 km)

Arrive in Milngavie, leave your bags with us to transport to your next stop and start running the same morning. Optional overnight stay available the night before your start the route

Rowardennan to Inveroran (34 miles 55 km)

As the West Highland Way trail meets the rugged terrain north of Inverarnan, why not add a few extra nights to your journey and take the time to summit some of our iconic mountain routes (each of them Munros) along your way. Inveroran to Fort William (35 miles / 56 km)

Finish your run at the foot of Ben Nevis in the Outdoor Capital of the UK - Fort William Optional overnight stay available in Fort William when you finish your route.

Optional: Ben Lui from Tyndrum with Girls on Hills

Ben Lui is regarded as one of the grandest and most elegant mountains of the Southern Highlands. It looks most magnificent from Dalrigh but hiking in from here takes longer than from Glen Lochay - 18km (11miles) and 1100m ascent from Dalrigh or 9km (5.5miles) and 970m ascent from Glen Lochay. The choice is yours…

Optional: Ben More from Crianlarich with Girls on Hills

This dominating and popular mountain is the highest of the so-called ‘Crianlarich hills’. There is no higher land in the British Isles south of this top and so the views are impressive – 9km (6miles) and 1060m ascent from Benmore Farm/A85

Optional: Buachaille Etive Mor from Glencoe with Girls on Hills

The ‘Great Herdsman of Glen Etive’ is one of the most iconic mountains in Scotland. Renowned for its impressive steep ridges and fantastic scenery overlooking Glencoe and Rannoch Moor, the route is 7km (4.5miles) and 807m ascent from Altnafeadh, Glencoe.

Optional: Optional: Ben Nevis from Fort William with Girls on Hills

As the highest peak in the UK, Ben Nevis needs little introduction. At 1345m above sea-level, this famous mountain should not be underestimated but is always worth the effort! 16km (10miles) and 1400m ascent from Glen Nevis, Ben Nevis Visitor Centre.
