Craigellachie Bridge on the Speyside Way

Autumn has finally arrived and with it comes the vibrant hues of gold and orange of the trees and a crisp autumn breeze all over Scotland. It’s a great season for outdoor lovers and whether you prefer pumpkin carving, bonfire nights or going for a walk to enjoy the picturesque scenery of our countryside is the perfect way to enjoy nature.
A walking holiday provides all of this as a final opportunity before the dark nights of winter set in and EasyWays can be your route to that experience.

For whisky and castle lovers, we recommend the Speyside Way. As pictured above, the Speyside Way is truly beautiful during autumn and you will be able to experience a wide variety of landscapes, with the walk commencing in the fishing village of Buckie on the Moray Firth and ending by the Cairngorm Mountains and the Highland Resort of Aviemore. Once you reach Aviemore there is a busy local scene and a welcoming atmosphere waiting for you including some great restaurants and pub nightlife.

Another truly magical experience for the whole family this autumn is the  Rob Roy Way where you will have the opportunity to see the Enchanted Forest in Pitlochry where the route ends.
The Enchanted Forest is a unique visual and audio outdoors event set in Scotland’s Faskally Wood on the edge of the highland town and provides an excellent experience on completion of the walk that begins in the picturesque village of Drymen, just outside Glasgow.

On this walk you will also have the opportunity to learn more about Rob Roy MacGregor, the legendary Scottish outlaw of the early 1700s.

Finally for a different walk experience try the island route that circles Arran.  The Arran Coastal Path encompasses the entire island offering seaside paths, forest trails, tidal beaches and rolling hills. All around you, you will have stunning autumnal views across the Firth of Clyde to the east and the Kintyre Peninsula to the west.
