About The New Queensferry Crossing

new Queensferry Crossing

There are 2 existing rail and road bridges!

With a Government investment of around £1.35 billion, the new bridge is 1.7 miles long! Once finished it will become the longest 3 tower cable-stayed bridge in the world. After its opening the new Queensferry Crossing will be for road traffic use only, replacing the existing Forth Road Bridge, which will then become dedicated for use from public transport, cyclists and walkers.

“What is being achieved on the Forth today, like what was achieved 53 years ago, is a testament to the expertise and the endeavour of those who have designed and built these bridges.”
Keith Brown – Economy Secretary
