Accommodation for Eco Holidays in Scotland – Walking Holidays with EasyWays
Ecocamp Glenshee
Located in Blairgowrie in East Perthshire, Ecocamp Glenshee welcomes pets, cyclists and most importantly walkers! Offering year-round glamping facilities, there are 6 pods which are ideal for group/family holidays or weekend getaways. One of the best things about this campsite is it’s closeness to the Cateran Trail. Book into the eco camp after your walking holiday! They also offer Llama Trekking! Using solar power, wood burning stoves in some pods and electric heating; you can easily enjoy eco holidays here at Blairgowrie in Scotland.
Eco Hostels
There are two eco hostels located in the Scottish Highlands; in Glen Affric and Loch Ossian. The power at the Glen Affric Hostel is generated by solar panels and wind turbines and the one in Loch Ossian uses hydro and solar power! Both are great places to base yourself if you are keen on hill walking or outdoor adventuring.
Eigg Camping Pods
If you’re looking for an even more remote destination for an eco-conscious holiday, head to the Isle of Eigg! One of the smaller islands of the Inner Hebrides, you reach the island by ferry from Mallaig. Located very near Galmisdale, which is the main port of Eigg; the community-owned camping pods look out onto the water. Running on renewable energy, these pods are ideal for an overnight stay in summer or perfect as a base to explore the island while remaining off-grid.
Eco Lodges
A more recent trend in eco holidays in Scotland based eco lodges. In an effort to construct low-impact properties which are non-offensive to the natural environment, eco lodges are designed to have lower carbon footprints and are built using materials which compliment the surrounding eco-systems. From Croft 103 on the very north coast of Scotland in Durness – which could be combined with exploring the North Highland Way – to Ecopod Boutique Retreat in Argyll. There are many eco-lodges to explore in Scotland! After a walking holiday with EasyWays, why not reward yourself by enjoying a relaxing eco lodge getaway?
