Kinloss Abbey Guided Tour – 28th May 2017
Located just 7 minutes from Forres – where the Dava Way begins – Kinloss is a small village near the north coast. On the 28th May, Kinloss Abbey hosted a tour! The free event provided visitors with an insight into it’s amazing history and development over the years. Kinloss Abbey is a 12th Century formerly Cistercian Abbey. Because of events in Moray like this, the area is thriving this June!
The Moray Walking & Outdoor Festival 2017
In mid-June, the north coast welcomes The Moray Walking & Outdoor Festival! From the 16th to the 25th of June, there are 50 events taking place over the ten days. Whether you looking for a historical stroll or a film night, this festival is a great way to spend your summer. If you are walking the Dava Way or the Moray Coastal Trail, you will be able to reach any events in Moray area easily! In summer in the Scottish Highlands there are a range of activities to enjoy, if you are in need of a bit of fun, look at our last post about geocaching!

Ghost Train Walk 2017
Taking place on the 24th to the 25th of June, the Ghost Train Walk is an overnight walk starting in Grantown-on-Spey (transport is provided). With a distance of around 23 miles the walk ends near Forres in Dallas Dhu! If you are walking the Dava Way this is the perfect opportunity to have a bit of fun!
European Pipe Band Championships 2017
Another extremely popular event taking place this June is the European Pipe Band Championships! On the 24th of June, thousands of pipers, drummers, highland dancers will ascend on Grant Park in Forres to take part in the Highlands’ biggest piping event of the year. A great day out, the event will also showcase local food, drink, crafts and more! In such idyllic settings, everyone is welcome to experience the epitome of Scottish culture.
