Are you thinking about running the West Highland Way? With a growing popularity of Ultra Marathons and the option to run the West Highland Way over 2 or 3 days, this is one more way to enjoy the route.
There are a number of factors to consider when planning a long distance walking or running holiday, and the time of year is one of them. Wet weather will impact the terrain, making it more muddy underfoot and you should also take into account the number of daylight hours, depending on the season. Once you have decided when you would like to travel, EasyWays will advise you on the availability of accommodation at the stages you wish to cover on the West Highland Way. As it’s such a popular route we have had plenty of experience in catering for many different circumstances. You can trust our team to make sure your walk or run on the West Highland Way is everything you hope for!

West Highland Way Race

As well as running the West Highland Way in your own time, there is an annual West Highland Way Race. It is one of the world’s longest-established Ultra Marathons which began in 1985 and now welcomes up to 300 competitors! The 2018 race is fully booked for this year but you have plenty of time to start training for 2019 – entries for next year will open in November 2018. Or, if you are not ready to run the whole of the Way, you might consider the 53-mile Highland Fling Race between Milngavie and Tyndrum which takes place annually in April.

Women Run Too!

Women can find support with trail running through companies that specifically encourage women to challenge themselves and create their own adventure, such as Women Run Strong and Girls on Hills .
