Where is Skye?

the skye bridge

The Skye Bridge makes it incredibly easy to reach the island!

Located on the North-West coast of Scotland, Skye is easily accessible by boat and land. Though there is no train line onto the island, there is a road bridge that connects the mainland and Skye. Since 1995, the Skye Bridge has enabled Skye locals and tourists to go back and forth, from Kyle of Lochalsh to Kyleakin. Travelling from Glasgow, it would take around 5 hours to reach Skye. However, if you are heading towards the island via public transport, there is the option of taking the train from Glasgow Queen Street station to Mallaig, where you can then take the ferry to Armadale, on the island. The ferry only takes around 45 minutes. No matter what route you taking, travelling through the highlands of Scotland is always a pleasant experience.
