One of the best walks on Arran is the Arran Coastal Way! With a route that loops around the island, there is so much to see. As the name suggests the path you follow is coastal. The north of Arran is mountainous and the south areas are more a moor-like terrain, so expect a mix when making your way. Beginning and ending in the main town of Brodick, the 65-mile-long route is ideal for first time walkers!
How Do I Reach Arran?
The Ardrossan to Brodick ferry runs very frequently, especially in summer!
Arran is one of the nearest islands to the Scottish mainland. And so, to get onto the island it is very easy. From Glasgow, you take a 40-minute train to the town of Ardrossan. From there are regular ferries over to Brodick, which is where the Arran Coastal Way begins! Taking 55 minutes, the overall journey time is not bad at all. Planning a trip in 2018?
