The Route
One of the best walks in Argyll, The Cowal Way is not something to miss out on! The route begins in the Loch Fyne village of Portavadie. Here you can stay in a range of luxury accommodation and even experience some lovely spa treatments! Continuing the next point in the walk is Tighnabruiach, an ideal place for cycling. The route ends up in the Lochgoilhead/Arrochar area! A more well-known part of Argyll and Bute, there is so much history in this part of Scotland.

Cowalfest 2017!
Also, one of the most anticipated events in the area is Cowalfest. From the 6th to the 15th of October, Cowalfest is 10 days of walks and activity tasters which cover Cowal arts, heritage, folklore and more! Organised for all ages and abilities, the festival is one of the largest, of its kind, in Scotland. The different events are led by experts, a perfect way to delve deeper into walks in Argyll and Scottish culture!

How to get there! To reach Portavadie, the easiest way is to travel by train from Glasgow to Gourock, crossing the water to Dunoon by ferry!
How long is The Cowal Way? The walk is 57 miles long!
What is the terrain like? The route is mostly involves coastal, forestry and moor terrain. Which can be completed in 3 to 5 days.
