Fort William is also the starting point of the Great Glen Way, a route that will take you through the heart of the Scottish highlands! If you don’t like the sound of walking up the mighty Ben Nevis, the Great Glen Way route is relatively simple and easy to navigate. Ending up in another one of Scotland’s dream holiday destinations of Inverness, the route lasts 6 days and is 73 miles long!

The end point of the Great Glen Way, Inverness, is known as the Scotland’s cultural capital. A rather compact city, it is however the largest town of the highlands, Inverness has an abundance enjoyable activities and experiences. From the botanic gardens to Inverness castle; it is the perfect place to relax after taking part in the Great Glen Way! Though it is embedded in the Highlands, Inverness is also very easy to access by train, bus and plane.
