The Speyside Way Race, 25th August 2018

The Speyside Way is a 37 mile ultra race which takes place on the 25th August 2018. This is the ninth Speyside Way race which is limited to 200 competitors and starts on the grounds of Cragganmore Distillery. From there it will continue to follow the idyllic Speyside route onto Craigellachie, Fochabers, Spey Bay then to the final destination of Buckie. Just as if you were to walk the route, running the route it is considered to be of easy/moderate difficulty. A very popular option for running and walking, the EasyWays Speyside Way route stretches to Aviemore, however, we can adjust it to your needs!

The Keith and Dufftown Railway

The Keith and Dufftown railway line links the world’s malt whisky capital. It’s 11 miles long and begins at the Dufftown station, only a small distance from the beginning of the EasyWays Speyside walking route in Buckie. It is very popular with tourists because of its convenience; it’s a very relaxing way to spend your afternoon giving you a chance to embrace the beautiful Scottish countryside.

Speyside Way Cycling

The route’s terrain is very suitable for cyclists – it’s very well maintained. Many people choose to cycle if they are going to tour the distilleries! Because the route it a mix of woodland and the open countryside it is ideal for cycling from Spring to Autumn. You will more than likely catch a glimpse of deer, rabbits, ducks and lots of birds of prey! Also, if you’re interested in an outdoor activity based holiday, Aviemore, which is the last point of the EasyWays Speyside Way route and located in Cairngorms National Park, is a great place to base yourself from.
