Elie Chain Walk

The Elie Chain Walk is a unique feature of the Fife Coast in Scotland and forms an alternative part of the EasyWays  Fife Coastal Path, a spectacular coastline walk that begins in North Queensferry and ends at the historic town of St Andrews.

This distinctive scramble consists of 8 chains built into the cliffside towards Kincraig Point and Shell Bay on the west side Elie, one of the many small fishing villages located along the coastline.

With various factors to consider before deciding to take on the challenge it is highly recommended that you check out this Step by Step Guide by James Carron.

The Chain Walk is not part of the Fife Coastal Path (that bypasses the section over a headland) but it can be taken for those who wish to take up the test.

Here is a short video by Natural Scotland that gives a close up and personal insight to what lies in wait.
